Blanning Dementia Day Centre, run by the Family Care Trust, has received a transformative addition to its care services—the Mobii Interactive Projector, generously funded by the Knowle & Dorridge Lions. This cutting-edge technology is enhancing the wellbeing of individuals with dementia by promoting engagement, movement, reminiscence, and social interaction.
The Mobii creates immersive experiences by projecting interactive activities onto tables and floors, allowing residents to take part in meaningful sessions that stimulate both the mind and body. One of the most touching moments of the launch event was a Life Stories activity, where Duncan, a centre visitor, was surrounded by familiar faces and cherished memories, brought to life through personalised photos from his past.
Following this, group sessions were held, with residents engaging in interactive games that encouraged movement and social bonding. The Knowle & Dorridge Lions also joined in to experience the Mobii first-hand, seeing the joy and connection it brings.
Ian from OM Interactive provided training to the Blanning Day Centre team, ensuring that staff can tailor activities to best support their residents. The Family Care Trust continues its commitment to delivering outstanding dementia care, and this donation marks a significant step forward in creating stimulating, person-centred experiences.
